AUGUST Itinerary
Day 1: Wednesday, August 11, 2021
Flying time! - You will want to begin your journey departing today for arrival on Thursday, August 12; just in time to join the tour into the wonderful world of Greece with some more local flavor than what is typically offered.
Day 2: Thursday,August 12,2021
Athens, Greece - Arrive in Athens ,enjoy an airport transfer with a driver and us to take you one of the most picturesque islands of Greece, Hydra is accessible in only 2 hours ferry ride from Athens. Relax after your journey after checking in to the hotel and in the evening attend a welcome dinner with us and your fellow travelers.
Day 3: Friday August 13, 2021
Hydra Island, Greece - The special thing about Hydra island is that cars and generally all motor vehicles are prohibited in the entire island, so all transport is done on foot, by boat or riding the donkey. Explore the island at your leisure enjoying the scenic views or the boutique shops.
Day 4: Saturday , August 14, 2021
Hydra Island, Greece -Continue to explore the island at your leisure, departing in the late afternoon to return to mainland Greece and the village of Perigiali, home of the Stergiopoulos family.
Day 5: Sunday, August 15, 2021
.Souli, Greece – Partake in the name day celebration of Virgin Mary, Relax until the afternoon at the beach in preparation of the celebration that will take place that evening with live music and Greek food.
Day 6: Monday, August 16, 2021
.Nafplio & Epidaurus, Greece – Begin your day visiting the Palimidi Castle in Nafplio, which can be reached by submitting the 857 steps, or by road, which we will partake in, followed by lunch in Tolo. In the afternoon we will explore the ruins and one of the most well preserved theaters of the ancient world as we visit Epidaurus for exploration. We then return to Perigiali for dinner at one of the best local restaurants that sits right on the sea. You will be able to relax and enjoy the sea breezes while dining on some of the best Mediterranean food.
Day 7: Tuesday, August 17, 2021
Athens, Greece- This tour provides an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Your expert guide will take you to see the center of the city, Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, and the National Library. Driving down Herod Atticus Street, you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniform, and the Presidential Palace. On the way to the Acropolis, you will see the Hadrian's Arch, visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and then make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896. At the Acropolis, visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and finally the Parthenon. You will complete the visit with the Museum of Acropolis.
Day 8: Wednesday, August 18, 2021
Delphi,Greece -Visit the city that name after Oracle of Delphi, which was anciently accepted as a purveyor of truth revealed by the god Apollo.
The town was created as a home for the population of Castro, which was to be removed to daylight the site of ancient Delphi. The importance of the twin locations grew to the point where Delphi has been made the name of the modern-day municipality, which includes the communities of the Plaistos valley system as far south as the Gulf of Corinth.
Day 9: Thursday, August 19,2021
Mycenae, Greece - Start your day with a visit to a local winery where we will be able to sample some specialty wines and enjoy lunch. Followed by a visit to Mycenae. According to stories, Perseus, the son of Zeus and Danae, founded Mycenae. This is the home of the famous Lion's Gate, which you will be able to walk through to enter the great civilization.
Day 10: Friday, August 20, 2021
Corinth, Loutraki Greece - Depart in the morning for a boat ride through the Corinth Canal before visiting the site of Ancient Korinthos. We will have lunch at Ancient Korinthos and then continue our day in modern Corinth with some sightseeing and shopping. Leave to visit coastal Loutraki, seeing a lighthouse and enjoying the breathtaking views of the cliff-like coastline. Spend the day sunbathing and enjoying the water among ancient ruins. Returning to Perigiali for dinner at the local sea restaurant after a day in the sun.
Day 11: Saturday, August 21, 2021
Perigiali, Greece - Enjoy a relaxing day spent in the village. Begin your day with a coffee at the local cafe, followed by relaxing sea breezes and leisurely lunch. Wrap up the evening with dinner welcoming at a local restaurant that provides sea views and amazing Mediterranean cuisine.
Day 12: Sunday, July 22, 2020
Athens, Greece – Tour comes to a close as you say goodbye to an amazing country and depart for your flight home.
